Registration Procedures

1- The Obligation to Register:
Interpretation of Article (21) in Chapter Four is “The Obligation to Register”, which stipulates the following:
"No person shall be licensed or allowed to practice geological work in the geological fields in the public and private sectors, unless he is registered with the Council."

2- General requirements for registration with the Council:
Based on Registration Terms & Conditions of article (22) of Chapter 4 in the Council’s Act, for registration with the Council, it is required that:
1- The applicant should have been graduated with Bachelor degree in Geological or one of its branches.
2- He/She must complying with the registration requirements prescribed for the grade of categories that the Council decides to register, and categories of geological hierarchy are Graduate Geologist, Specialist Geologist and Consultant Geologist.
3- He/She has not been convicted before any court for any offense provided for in this Act or any crime which the Council considers that its committing does not comply with the profession code of conduct and its traditions according to the interpretation issued in the regulations.
4- No decision has been made to dismiss him / her from the register or the period of time during which it was decided to remove his name from the register has expired.

Registration Processes:
Applications for registration are accepted ONLY through the registration panel in the registration in the main menu of the Council’s website, the application should be carried out through the following procedures:
1. Fill out the registration form that fits his status.
2. The applicant must be Sudanese, and the applicant must prove his Sudanese identity by providing any valid identification document. The following documents are accepted:
a- National number.
b- National card.
c- Driving License.
d- Passport.
3- Uploading copies of the university certificates and transcripts authenticated by the Sudanese Ministry of Higher Education.
4- In case of foreign academic degrees, uploading copies of the “Certificate of Evaluation” issued by the Sudanese Ministry of Higher Education is needed.

5- Uploading a digital photograph with the Visa application, the required photo should meet the following requirements:
- Format – JPEG
- Size Maximum 300 KB (Width (25 mm) and Height (35 mm).
- The height and width of the Photo must be equal.
- Photo should present Full face, front view, eyes open.
- Center head within frame and present full head from top of hair to bottom of chin.
- Background should be plain light colored or white background.
- No shadows on the face or on the background.
- Without borders.
- Make sure that photo presents full head from top of hair to bottom of chin.
6- Payment receipt of the registration fee after receiving the decision of the registration committee approving the registration application according to the category that suits the applicant pursuant to the decision.

Geologists Registration Entitlements:
(A) The registered geologist of the Council shall be allowed to practice geological work within the Sudan.
(B) A certificate of registration in the Geological Council shall be with a geological number according to the category that suits the applicant. The geological number details the followings:
2114-1973-01-00001
Geologist International Code–Grad Year–Geologic Class–Application Serial No.

(C) A registration card with the Council by category, valid for 4 years from the date of its issuance.
(D) Publishing the registered geologist name, class and geological number in the geologic register through the council website and other media
(D) Benefiting from all activities and services organized by the Council.
